This War of Mine is a game where you play a group of civilians trapped in an urban war zone. Shelling is constant and society has completely collapsed. The game is designed to make you feel the horrors the civilians are going thru: violent death at any moment, no electricity, lack of food and sanitation, no access to medical care, criminal gangs, rebel and military snipers, looters. I played it twice, about 12 hours total. This game is ruthless, brutal, and very effective at conveying what civilians trapped in a war-zone go thru. Every politician and member of the military should play it. In fact, everyone should play it.

 

This War Of Mine has modding tools, including a scenario editor. The game also has two DLCs and will be getting the tabletop board game treatment.
