Blackbar is a simple and fun mobile game about censorship, free speech, and surveillance. You assume the role of a new employee at a state agency tasked with monitoring and censuring citizens.  I played it all the way thru (about 3 hours) and loved it.

• After playing Blackbar, I re-watched The Lives of Others (which deals with the same issues) and felt the game and the film are great companions.

• I also found a massive open online course (MOOC) on these issues: Cyberwar, Surveillance and Security by the University of Adelaide. I haven't taken the MOOC but it might pair well with Blackbar.
